The Mandate Secretary of the Health Services and Environment Secretariat in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Dr Adedolapo Fasawe, has received three prestigious awards in recognition of her exemplary service in health, environmental protection, and climate advocacy.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Special Assistant on Media to the Mandate Secretary, Mrs Bola Ajao, who described the accolades as “simply remarkable.”

According to the statement, Dr Fasawe earned the three honours within a single month, underscoring her consistent impact and dedication to public service delivery in the FCT and beyond.

The first award was presented at the Annual Conference of the Pest Control Association of Nigeria, held at Radisson Blu in Lagos, where she was named the “Amazon of Environmental Health”, a title reserved for individuals making outstanding contributions to pest control and environmental health advancement.

The second award, the “Silent Hero in Healthcare Delivery”, came at the 7th Nigeria Silent Heroes Awards (NSHA) in Abuja. It acknowledged her quiet yet transformational leadership in strengthening healthcare systems and public health policy across the FCT.

The third recognition was bestowed by her alma mater, the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State), during the 2025 International Conference of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

She received an Award of Excellence in Climate Action for her pioneering integration of climate-focused strategies into public health and governance.

Held under the theme “Accelerating Climate Action for Sustainable Livelihoods in Nigeria”, the three-day conference celebrated Dr Fasawe’s visionary role in linking health with climate solutions.

Dignitaries at the event praised her as a proud ambassador of the university. A special reception was later organised in her honour by her former classmates.

Mrs Ajao noted that these accolades reflect Dr Fasawe’s unwavering commitment to service, visionary leadership, and her enduring contributions to sustainable development.

Responding to the recognitions, Dr Fasawe attributed her success to the leadership of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, crediting him with fostering an enabling environment that empowers Mandate Secretaries to fulfil the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

“I am deeply grateful to Honourable Minister Wike for his support and to the President for the vision that continues to guide our work,” she stated.

Dr Fasawe’s recent achievements continue to serve as an inspiration for greater integration of health, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience in Nigeria’s governance landscape.
