The Governor of Anambra State Professor Chukwuma Soludo has dedicated his second term in office to God, describing both his initial tenure and re-election as part of a divine plan guiding the state’s leadership.

Speaking during a Thanksgiving service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Awka, held days after his inauguration, Soludo said the gathering marked both gratitude for his first four years in office and a spiritual commitment for the years ahead.

“Today, the Sunday following the oath of office, we are here to thank God for a successful inauguration and to hand over the entire second tenure to God,” he said.

The governor said his administration would anchor its second term on faith while pursuing broader development goals. He described his leadership as coming at a providential moment and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people under divine guidance.

Referencing the biblical story of Lazarus, he stressed that timing and outcomes ultimately rest with God.

Soludo noted that throughout the election period, his campaign focused on prayers for wisdom, resilience, and the capacity to exceed expectations. He expressed confidence that the next four years would deliver accelerated progress across key sectors, including infrastructure, economic reform, security, and human capital development.

Reflecting on his first term, the governor credited progress under his “Solution” agenda to collective effort and support from a wide range of stakeholders. He thanked the federal government, international partners, private sector leaders, religious institutions, traditional authorities, and youth groups for their contributions.

He also commended members of his cabinet, known as the “Solution Team,” describing their work as central to the administration’s achievements and calling for continued collaboration to consolidate gains.

In his remarks, the Papal Nuncio to Nigeria, Michael Francis Crotty, acknowledged visible improvements recorded during Soludo’s first term and encouraged sustained commitment to development.

Soludo concluded by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering measurable progress, stating that Anambra “remains in God’s hands” as his government embarks on its second term.
