Governor Umahi tasks Igbo youths on hard work, peace

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria,  Engr David Umahi has called on all Igbo youths to continue to be hardworking and eschew violence of any kind.

Governor Umahi, who was represented by the Executive Chairman, Ivo Local Government Area of the State,  Chief  Onyebuchi Ogbadu stated this during the reception of the National Youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide,  Engr Damian Okafor in Ivo Local Government Area of the State.

Ogbadu said it’s only through hard work that the economy of the State and Nigeria at large would be improved for better living.

 “Violence does no good to anyone, it has led a lot of people into early graves. We must not kill or backbite before  God can bless you.”

“God’s blessings only come to those who are hardworking and peace lovers. I hereby encourage you to emulate from the Governor of Ebonyi State who is always working tirelessly to ensure that Ebonyi is turned to the best place in the world”

“We are celebrating Comrade Damian Okafor today because he worked hard to become what hi is today in Ohaneze Ndigbo,” he stated.

He encouraged all Nigerian youths to always anchor on God in times of difficulty in lieu of taking laws into their hands.

The Leader of All Progressive Congress in Ivo Local Government Area, Mr James Aronweke, said Governor Umahi has done well for giving Ishiagu a leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Engr Damian Okafor through his influence.

The  National Youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Engr Damian Okafor was full of happiness for the reception.

Engr Okafor urged youths to be serious in all their endeavors to better the society.

“I’m not happy to see our boys been incarcerated, With my power as the youth leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, this is the end of the unwarranted arrest going on in Ishiagu. Our youths must be free to enjoy their human rights in their own homes,” Okafor said.

” As Ohaneze Ndigbo youth leader, I feel elated and excited. The Youth must be incorporated in governance”

” A leader in Ivo should not only be known for arresting and imprisoning of our youths but should be a community and youths builder”. Okafor implored.

On behalf of Ohaneze Ndigbo National committee,  the Assistant Treasurer of Ohaneze Ndigbo from Abia state, Okorie Okechukwu Henry appreciated Governor Umahi’s good works in the State.

He said, “Ishiagu has given Ohaneze a good youth leader”.  

The President of Ishiagu Development Union, Emmanuel Ajah,  on behalf of Ishiagu people thanked the mammoth crowd  who came out en mass to support the warm reception

One of the major youth stakeholders, Fabian ugorji said Umahi has shown love to their people by giving Ishiagu people a Youth Leader of a reputable Worldwide Organization like Ohaneze.
