Guber Poll: INEC Distributes Sensitive Materials in Sokoto

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has begun the distribution of election sensitive material for March 18 Gubernatorial and State Assembly election to 23 local government areas of Sokoto State.
INEC National Commissioner to oversee the election in the state, Major General Modibbo Alkali (rtd) who led the distribution at the state branch of Central Bank, said the materials would be handed over to all the local government Electoral Officers.
According to him, the Electoral Officers would work hand in hand with Divisional Police Officers of their respective local government to ensure safety and security of the materials.
” Today we are here with all the electoral officers, political party Representatives, security operatives, Media, observers and other stakeholders to witness the distribution of these materials.
“These materials include ballot papers and results sheets of gubernatorial and state assembly results.
” Electoral Officers would work hand in hand with Nigerian Police and other security operatives to ensure safety of the materials before final distribution to wards and polling units,” he noted.
He said the electoral Officers had been directed to ensure timely distribution across 3,983 polling units in the state.
