The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has fixed Saturday the 27th of March for the conduct of bye-election into the vacant seat of Aba North/South Federal Constituency of Abia State.

INEC made this known in a statement released on Thursday after a meeting to deliberate issues concerning the bye-election.

The Commission explained that the vacancy arose as a result of the death of Hon. Ossy Prestige and the subsequent declaration of vacancy for the Federal Constituency by the National Assembly.

INEC stated that the official notification for the election will be published on Monday 1st of March 2021.
