Insecurity: Niger State calls for establishment of more Military Super Camps

The Chairman of Rafi Local Government in Niger State North Central Nigeria, Samaila Musa Modibbo, has called for an urgent establishment of a Military Super Camp to control the Exodus of bandits from parts of the North West of the country to Niger state.

Modibbo, stated this during a condolence visit of the state governments officials to Rafi Local Government led by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Matane.

The Chairman expressed optimism that the establishment of Military Super Camp in the area would no doubt address bandit’s migration, unacceptable and other security challenges daily affecting communities in the area.

Recent report shows that bandits killed a district Head, and destroyed properties worth Millions of Naira in Rafi Local Government area of Niger State.

The Secretary to the Niger State Government, Ibrahim Matane, reassured people of the State of the State government’s commitment to reinstate peace and security. He described it as sad and unfortunate the killing and kidnapping of the District Heads in the Local Government, stressing that Government is worried about the activities of armed bandits, kidnappers and as such it is leaving no stone unturned in tackling the dastardly act to a logical conclusion.

“The present administration of the State will continue to vote resources necessary to address our security challenges and support the security agencies in the State to find a lasting solution to the insecurity bedeviling the State”, Matane said.

The Niger State SSG, further called on the people of the State to intensify prayers, be very vigilant, security conscious and report any suspicious characters, movements, or objects to security agencies in complementing government efforts toward safeguarding lives and property of citizens.

The Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Salihu Tanko represented by Tafidan Kagara, Alhaji Shahabudeen Isah, also called on the State Government to expedite action towards the establishment of Military Super Camp in the area. He further told the delegation that Kagara Emirate is in dear need of security presence due to incessant security crisis in the area.
