The Kwara State Government, through the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA), is set to begin a series of activities to sensitise and mobilise residents ahead of the Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign.

The campaign would be carried out across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

The Executive Secretary of KWSPHCDA, Prof. Nusirat Elelu, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to “protecting every child in Kwara” and urged parents, caregivers, and community leaders to ensure full participation in the campaign.

She said “the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to reduce the burden of preventable diseases in the state.”

The campaign will be preceded by a novelty football match on Wednesday, 8th October at the Kwara Football Academy, and an official flag-off ceremony by the First Lady of Kwara State, Ambassador Professor Olufolake AbdulRazaq, on Thursday, 9 October.

Activities will culminate in an awareness walk on Friday, 10 October, while the vaccination exercise will begin on Saturday, 11 October 2025, across all local government areas.
