Kwara State Government restates commitment to due process

The Kwara State government has restated its commitment to proper budgetary requirements and due process in its financial obligations.

The State Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Oyeyemi Olasumbo Florence said the present administration under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is committed to deepening budget preparation and processes in line with the National Chart of Accounts.

The Commissioner made these assertions  in Ilorin, the state capital North Central Nigeria while delivering a welcome address during a workshop organized for the Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics in Ministries, Departments and Agencies MDAs to update the MDAs on Budget preparation and processes using  National Chart of Accounts (NCOA) standard, a template developed by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF.

Mrs Oyeyemi explained that the workshop was in fulfilment of the present administration’s commitment to enhance human capacity for improved service delivery and to align with international best practices in budget preparation and processes.

She added that the workshop would also acquaint planning officers in MDAs with new techniques and technology for budget preparation and expressed confidence that the template would be put to use for the preparation of 2022 budget.
