Lawmaker urges Federal Government to boost security architecture

The Nigerian Government has been called upon to recruit more security architecture in the country.

Nigeria’s senator, Gershom Bassey, who disclosed this in an interview with Voice of Nigeria’s Correspondent, Iquo Williams, said the National Assembly was concerned about security challenge in the Country.

Senator Bassey also said  that the National Assembly had debated the issue of National insecurity over the years and also come to a far reaching suggestion on  the security challenges in the Country that led to the change of Service Chiefs recently.

Senate has debated this matter exhaustively over the past six years not only have they debated, they have had several retreats on this matter and they have come to a far reaching suggestions and conclusions on the State of insecurity  of this Nation and one of the conclusions on their debate was that the Service Chiefs should be changed ‘’. He stated.

It would be recalled that the Executive had recently changed the Service Chiefs.

This is probably as a result of the numerous interventions and suggestions of the senate and House of Assembly.

The Senator further stressed the need to equip the security Agencies in Nigeria with the manpower to tackle insecurity and other forms of criminality.
