NGX Equities Market closes flat

The equities market on Tuesday closed flat with both the All-Share Index and the Market Capitalization ending the day at 0.00% as interests in INTBREW (+6.0%) and ACCESS (+1.1%) offset losses in FBNH (-4.0%) and ZENITHBANK (-0.4%). 

The All-Share Index stood at 37,857.24 basis points, 0.65 basis points below Monday’s closing of 37,857.89 basis points while the Market Capitalization closed at N19, 724 same as Monday’s closing.

Traded stocks
Investors traded 197,280 million units of shares worth N1, 921 million in 3,567 deals.

WEMA BANK PLC was the most traded stock by volume at 37,199 million units of shares while Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc was the most traded stock by value at N823, 198 million.

At the close of the day, 17 stocks posted gains, 13 stocks declined as all others closed flat.

Gainers
Top on the gainers chart is NCR (NIGERIA) PLC with an upward move from a previous selling price of N2.49k per share to N2.73k per share, gaining 0.24k or 9.64%.

WEMA BANK PLC was next rising from 0.74k per share to 0.81k per share by 0.07k or 9.46% while FTN COCOA PROCESSORS PLC rose from 0.36k per share to 0.39k per share by 0.03k or 8.33%.

Losers
On the other hand, leading the losers today is IKEJA HOTEL PLC which fell 0.14k or 9.09% from N1.54k per share to N1.40k per share.

This was followed by CUSTODIAN INVESTMENT PLC which fell from N6.50k per share to N6.10k per share by 0.40k or 6.15% while JAPAUL GOLD & VENTURES PLC declined from 0.53k per share to 0.50k per share by 0.03k or 5.66%.

On sectors, the Banking (+0.4%) and Consumer Good (+0.3%) indices gained while the Industrial Goods, Insurance and Oil & Gas indices closed flat.

Closing Gong Ceremony
In another development, Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, GTCO Plc, commemorated the listing of its shares on Nigerian Exchange, NGX, with a Closing Gong Ceremony today. The event also featured the reveal of the company’s new brand identity to capital market stakeholders and members of the general public.

It would be recalled that GTCO officially listed its shares on NGX on June 28, 2021 following the restructuring of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Plc. At the time, the shares of GTB were officially delisted from the market, and GT HoldCo’s entire issued share capital of 29,431,179,224 ordinary shares of 50 kobo each were listed on the bourse.
