Niger State sacks 758 Civil Servants

Niger State Government in North Central Nigeria has Sacked 758 civil servants for fraudulent acts and misconduct in the State Civil Service.

The Chairman of the Niger state Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Shehu Yusuf Galadima, stated this during a media briefing on Tuesday in Minna the State Capital.

He said a total of 5,258 workers have so far been retired in the past three years from the State Civil Service.

“Since the year 2018, a total of 5,258 civil servants who have completed the mandatory 35 years of Service or have attained the age of 60 have retired voluntarily. 

“380 Civil servants were also forcefully retired due to their involvement in fraudulent acts of alteration of date of birth or first appointment”, he said.

Galadima further said 328 personnel were also kicked out of the   service after a forensic examination of their certificates.

The Chairman who however said the Commission has planned to employ 2000 graduates, mentioned that 1,133 have already been screened and employed into critical areas like the Health, Education, and the State Fire Service.

According to him, the Commission has concluded arrangement for deploying skilled workers wrongly posted to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to their respectful fields.
