Nigeria Succumbs To Cameroon In Africa Women Handball Championship

A determined Nigeria side couldn’t cope with the fire power of host nation Cameroon as they lost their second match at Africa Women Handball Championship on Thursday.

The Coach Rafiu Salami’s side started the match with vigor and determination and much better than their performance in the first match which saw them narrowly losing  to Cameroon 14-13 in the first half.

Nigeria couldn’t continue with their first half momentum in the second half as the host outscored them and took advantage of their 7 metre throws to win the match 31-19.

The National Women Handball Team are still third behind, with DR Congo leading the group as they defeated Kenya 42-16 earlier in the day.

Nigeria still have an opportunity to qualify for the quarter final as they must finish amongst two of the best losing teams.

It means the the Ladies must defeat Kenya in their final match to have any hope of qualifying for the the quarter final.
