Nigeria’s Attorney General Mourns Former ICJ Judge Bola Ajibola

Nigeria’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has mourned the death of his former colleague Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice as well as a former judge at the International Court of Justice, Bola Ajibola.

Late Bola Ajibola who served between 1985-1991 died on Sunday at the age of 89.

In a press statement by his media aid Dr Umar Gwandu, Malami said, Ajibola created a huge vacuum in the nation’s legal space adding that as a patriotic citizen the late former Attorney General of the Federation was a seasoned legal icon of international repute whose impact remains indelible in Nigerian history and beyond.

While praying God for the repose of the soul of the deceased, Malami also prayed that the Almighty grant the nation, families of the late, Ogun State and the entire nation the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Malami prayed to the Almighty Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

The Janazah prayer led by the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheik Sa’dallah Bamgbola, was held at the Islamic Mission for Africa premises in Abeokuta, South West Nigeria. He was laid to rest at 4:00 pm local time on Sunday, April 9th, 2023.
