Nigeria’s hopes of winning a medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Women’s Canoe Single 200m event came to an end as Ayomide Bello finished third in a time of 47.326s in Heat 3 of the Women’s Canoe Single 200m.
The time was not enough for her to reach the semifinals as she missed out on an automatic semi-final spot.
Alena Nazdrova and Lisa Jahn were the only athletes who finished ahead of the Nigerian as they finished in a time of 46.950s and 47.326s respectively.
