Sokoto State Governor-Elect Receives Certificate of Return

The Sokoto State Governor-elect, Ahmad Aliyu, has received his Certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC following his victory at March 18, Gubernatorial polls.
Aliyu received his certificate of return alongside the Deputy Governor-Elect, Idris Danchadi, as well as 30 State House of Assembly members-elect.
Speaking shortly after receiving the certificate, the Governor-Elect, Aliyu thanked Almighty Allah for the opportunity to witness the historic day.
He applauded the efforts of all stakeholders particularly his father, a former Governor of the State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, who contributed immensely toward his victory.
The Governor-elect also commended INEC and security operatives for conducting free, fair and credible Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections.
Aliyu further expressed gratitude to the people of Sokoto state, saying “the victory would have not been possible without their support.”
He reiterated his commitment to deliver on all his campaign promises, particularly the 9 points agenda unveiled during his campaign.
The Governor-Elect however called on all stakeholders particularly the opposition party, to join hands with his administration to build a new Sokoto State for sustainable development.
Earlier in his remarks, the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara who presented the certificate of return to the Governor-Elect, Professor Muhammad Kallah, said elections have come and gone.
He noted that people of the state make their choices and those elected received their certificates.
Professor Kallah said; “Today we are here to present a certificate of return to all those elected during the March 18, Gubernatorial election,” he said.
He commended the efforts of all stakeholders who assisted in ensuring the success of the exercise.
Professor Kallah urged all those elected to fear Allah to ensure successful administration that has a direct impact on the electorates in the state and Nigeria.
