Sony Music Publishing has signed a landmark publishing agreement with Nigerian highlife legend Bright Chimezie, aimed at preserving and revitalising his rich musical legacy.
Celebrated for his dynamic style and the creation of the “Zigima Sound,” Chimezie has been instrumental in the development of modern highlife and Afrobeat genres.
Under the new deal, Sony Music Publishing will administer and manage Chimezie’s vast catalogue of classic compositions and recordings. The partnership seeks to introduce his timeless music to new global audiences while safeguarding and promoting his artistic legacy.
