UNILORIN partners with NCAM on agricultural development

The University of Ilorin expressed readiness to partner the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Idofian in Kwara on agricultural knowledge and human capacity development.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, stated this when he led some members of the university’s management team on a visit to the Acting Executive Director of NCAM, Dr Abdulgafar Kamaldeen.

He said, that the two institutions needed to work together to deepen knowledge and human capacity development, particularly in the field of agriculture and agricultural engineering.

He called for more fraternity, collaboration and cooperation between the two institutions.

He added that the university was very proud to have Kamaldeen, an alumnus of Unilorin as the Chief Executive of such an important outfit, which was tasked with food sufficiency and security for the nation.

Egbewole assured the executive director that a proper arrangement would be made for him to pay NCAM a working visit in no distant future.

Welcoming the vice-chancellor to his office, Kamaldeen said, that he felt most honoured and highly motivated to play host to the chief executive of his alma mater.

The NCAM boss assured Egbewole of the readiness of his establishment to seize the privilege of its location and hands of friendship extended to his centre.

He said, “NCAM would effectively collaborate with the university towards achieving the corporate objectives of the two institutions.”
