The Sequel of the Marvel Hit “venom” grossed approximately $90.1million Dollars in its debut setting a pandemic record. The much darker “Venom” follow-up comes from Sony pictures and is separate from Disney’s Marvel cinematic universe.

If it’s first three days in theaters are any indication, “Venom; Let there be Carnage” will find itself among 2021’s biggest earners in the movie world. The film is playing only in cinemas as opposed to a hybrid release on demand- a factor that should help boost the sale of tickets.

“Young adult audiences are less deterred by the current pandemic conditions than older and family movie goers, which is very beneficial for ‘Superhero, action and horror movies” says David Gross who runs the movie consulting firm franchise entertainment research.

Though it’s expected to open there, the sequel doesn’t have a release date yet in China- a market that will be crucial to its success.
