Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has allayed the fears of Nigerians that the crisis currently rocking the South-East region, would disrupt the Anambra state Governorship election coming up in November this year.

Senator Ubah who represents Anambra South Senatorial district in the 9th National Assembly, made his position known on Thursday, after his clearance as the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), for the forthcoming governorship election in the State.

He was cleared by the party National leadership in Abuja and issued with the certificate being the sole aspirant.

The primaries will be a mere formality where he would be adopted in the presence of INEC officials.

Meanwhile, the first time Senator while assuring Anambra people that the insecurity in the region would not affect the conduct of the polls, emphasised that YPP would emerge victorious.

He also confirmed that his party was not behind the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the state, contrary to insinuations in some quarters.

We defeated them in the last General election for the Anambra South Senatorial seat, and our constituents have been our back bone and they still are. So, we are marching forward with the people of our constituency into the other constituencies in Anambra state, knowing that by God’s Grace we shall emerge victorious,” he said.

“This is not a day of speech making but I just want to thank my constituents and all Anambra people for their continuous support. I want to also thank our party the YPP for believing in me and I want to assure all of them that we shall emerge victorious come November 6.”
