Zamafara Governor joins APC

The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Mutawalle has left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to join Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The APC National Chairman and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni led eleven governors, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and other key stakeholders of the party to Gusau, the capital of Zamfara to formally receive Governor Mutawalle to the APC.

A press statement by Governor Buni’s DG, Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, revealed that the Zamfara state governor said he liked Governor Buni’s leadership style.

“Your leadership style has redefined the party and l am glad that myself, associates and supporters are joining the party at this time under your leadership” Governor Mutawallee said.

He promised to be just and fair in treating every member of the party with respect and dignity.

On his part, Governor Buni while commending the Zamfara state Governor for his decision to join APC declared him the leaders of the party in the state.

“Your decision to join APC now, is a defining moment for you, the government and people of Zamfara state.

“From now henceforth, you are the leader of the party in Zamfara State and all structures of the party have collapsed under your leadership” he said.

Governor Buni also charged all stakeholders and members of APC in the state to remain loyal to the governor and the party.

A Former Zamfara Governor and former leader of the party in the state, Abdulaziz Yari, pledged loyalty to the new leader of the party in the state.

The governors who attended the ceremony include Katsina, Borno, Kano, Kaduna, Kebbi, Niger, Borno, Jigawa, Plateau, Ogun and Kogi states.
