At least 13 people died after a minibus collided with a truck on a highway in central China, traffic police said on Thursday.
The crash occurred early Thursday in Henan province near the city of Nanyang, home to about nine million residents.
Police said the minibus hit the truck on the G40 expressway, a major highway connecting the eastern city of Shanghai with Shaanxi province in northern China.
Authorities said 16 people were onboard the minibus, which was licensed to carry only nine passengers. Three others sustained injuries.
Officials have yet to disclose the cause of the accident.

China’s Ministry of Public Security has sent a working group to investigate the crash, police added.
