2027 Election : RHA DG Backs President Tinubu’s Re-Election Bid

Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu’s record of governance and ongoing reforms will secure public support and strongly position him for re-election in the 2027 general election.

Uzodimma stated this on Wednesday while addressing members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) at the group’s ongoing National Mobilisation Retreat at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

The governor, who is also the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, in a statement signed by Director, Media & Publicity, Renewed Hope Ambassadors,Tunde Rahman, urged members of the organisation to intensify grassroots mobilisation and take the message of the Tinubu administration’s achievements to communities across the country.

According to him, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors must build a strong and unified mobilisation structure capable of promoting the administration’s reforms and development agenda ahead of the next election cycle.

He said President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda was designed to rebuild the country through economic reforms, infrastructure development, improved healthcare, and social intervention programmes.

Defending key policies of the administration, including the removal of the fuel subsidy and foreign exchange reforms, Uzodimma said the measures were difficult but necessary decisions aimed at securing Nigeria’s long-term economic future.

The President chose the path of courage over convenience. Our responsibility is to explain these reforms to Nigerians and ensure that the benefits are clearly understood at the grassroots,” he said.

The RHA Director General pointed to recent economic indicators as evidence that the reforms were yielding results, noting that Nigeria recorded a 3.89 per cent Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in the first quarter of 2026.

He also highlighted major infrastructure projects being undertaken by the Federal Government, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Road, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and Bodo-Bonny Road.

Uzodimma further cited improvements in healthcare, the student loan scheme, the consumer credit programme, the implementation of the new minimum wage, tax reforms and the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative as indicators of progress under the current administration.

He stressed that one of the biggest challenges facing the government was ensuring that citizens were adequately informed about its achievements.

According to him, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors were established to bridge the communication gap between government policies and the people while countering misinformation.

“Our task is to take the message of Renewed Hope to every community, every ward and every polling unit. We must meet misinformation with facts and ensure Nigerians understand the purpose and impact of ongoing reforms,” he said.

Uzodimma disclosed that the retreat would produce strategic documents, including a National Grassroots Mobilisation Blueprint, State-by-State Action Plans, a Standard Messaging Manual and an Election Readiness Checklist.

He said the organisation plans to deploy 25 canvassers across each of Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units, creating a nationwide mobilisation network of more than four million people.

Calling for unity within the ruling All Progressives Congress, the governor said the RHA would continue to work closely with party structures to deepen grassroots engagement and consolidate support for the administration.

He expressed optimism that the gains of the Tinubu administration would become more visible in the coming months, maintaining that the President’s record of performance would ultimately convince Nigerians to renew his mandate in 2027.

The RHA’s Deputy Director General and Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, enjoined the ambassadors to effectively disseminate the government’s message of hope and renewal, while the National Secretary and Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, said the organisation should be a strategic vehicle for national transformation.

The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, who also harped on the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, noted that while the country still has challenges, including security, the successes recorded in the fight against kidnapping and terrorism, including the swift rescue of abducted Kebbi schoolchildren, should be acknowledged and commended.

All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, declared the retreat open.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Mobilisation Retreat is holding from Wednesday, June 10, to Thursday, June 11, 2026.
