Nigerian music icon 2Baba will mark his 51st birthday with the release of a new single, Mental, featuring fast-rising singer Fave, followed by a special birthday celebration in Lagos State.
Speaking exclusively to Voice of Nigeria, 2Baba’s manager and partner, Mallam Yankee, disclosed that Mental was released on Friday, September 18, coinciding with the singer’s birthday.
Yankee said the new song adds to 2Baba’s impressive catalogue while further connecting the veteran artist with a new generation of music lovers.
He also revealed that the birthday celebration will continue on Saturday, September 19, with a special birthday dinner, album listening party and the launch of 2Baba Jollof in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event is scheduled for “7pm to midnight” and will bring together friends, colleagues, celebrities, industry stakeholders and other invited guests to celebrate the singer’s career and contributions to Nigerian music.
According to Yankee, the album listening session will give guests an exclusive opportunity to experience 2Baba’s forthcoming project, while the launch of 2Baba Jollof will provide another major highlight of the evening.
“The event is strictly by invitation and is expected to offer an intimate celebration of 2Baba’s music, career and latest creative ventures”. He stated.
Yankee added that the combination of the new single’s release on his birthday and the celebrations the following day will make 2Baba’s 51st birthday weekend a significant moment for the music icon, his fans and the wider entertainment industry.
