Borno Governor flags off N2b construction project

Borno state Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has laid foundation for the construction of lock-up shops, bus terminal and market stalls along Bama road in Maiduguri the state capital valued at two billion naira.

The 49,000 square meters concrete bus terminal will comprise 373 lock-up shops and 220 market stalls.

The project is expected to be completed within 18 months and the governor has charged contractors to work within stipulated time while maintaining high quality in executing their work. 

The Governor who said the project is part of the his campaign promises to provide a conducive business premises to the community, also announced that the present Bama road motor park will be relocated to the new terminal when completed while a new mega school will be sited at the old motor park.

Commissioner of Commerce, Yerima Kareto, said 10 contractors are involved in the project and had been mobilised with 15% of the cost.

An engineer on the project, Usman Tijani Monguno assured the Governor of high standards in the execution of the project while adhering to specifications of the design.
