The Labour Party Candidate for Awka South and North Federal Constituency,Prof Lilian Orogbu, says she is motivated to contest for the House of Representatives Seat to add value to the nation’s legislature.
Prof Orogbu,who was fielding questions from newsmen in Amawbia, Anambra State shortly after being conferred with the Chieftaincy title of “Ada Di Ebube Ndigbo” by the community,said if voted into office,she would enhance the process of law making for better Nigeria.
The Candidate added that she would bring her experience, exposure and academic background to bear in National Assembly so as to ensure quality laws are made to positively touch the lives of people.
” I am contesting to add value to our law making process for a better nation,where people will feel the impact of good governance.
“As an academic,I know what my constituents largely youths want and when I get there i make sure those things are addressed and tackled through enabling legislation”
” I have been contributing to the development of the society in many ways,even when i was in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, as Dean Faculty of Management Sciences. I have helped youths to secure jobs, admissions into various higher institutions and other empowerment programmes”.
In his remark, Regent of Amawbia Town , Arc. Emeka Maduka, noted that she merited the award considering what she has done for the community and beyond, adding that she devoted her time and resources to service of humanity in various ways, urging her not to relent.
In a separate interview, a Former National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Umeh, emphasised the importance of recognizing people, including women for their achievements while still alive and urged other communities to emulate Ngene Amawbia which he described as a great community.
