Operation Hadin Kai Neutralises 103 Terrorists in Air Campaign

Operation Hadin Kai has reported the neutralisation of 103 terrorists and the destruction of logistics hubs and storage facilities during seven intelligence-led air strikes against Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) targets across the North-East between October 10 and 18, 2026.

A statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, said that the operations involved coordinated assets from Nigerian Army Aviation, the Nigerian Army Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (NARPAS) Regiment and the Air Component.

The strikes targeted terrorist elements and facilities around Gudumbali in Guzamala Local Government Area, Badu in Monguno, Mairari in Guzamala and Duste Uku in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The campaign also included a precision strike on October 18 against the alternate residence of Abu Saleem, identified in the statement as the ISWAP Wali of South Lake Chad, in the Arina Woje area of Monguno, Borno State.

According to the statement, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance activities preceded the strike on Abu Saleem’s alternate residence. Subsequent human intelligence reportedly confirmed the deaths of Jindullah, identified as a prominent ISWAP fighter and Abu Saleem’s chief security guard, and Abul Kissa, a member of the group’s Shura Council, alongside other fighters.

The strike destroyed the targeted structure and logistics assets, including nine boat engines and several motorcycles, according to the task force. The operation was intended to disrupt the group’s use of the location as a hideout and logistics base.

Another major operation took place on October 13, when a Guardian air asset tracked terrorists from the Mairari axis to a gathering of more than 100 fighters accompanied by motorcycles, approximately 23 kilometres east of Badu and 19 kilometres west of Monguno.

A subsequent precision strike resulted in the assessed neutralisation of about 30 terrorists. The extent of damage to the motorcycles was not confirmed.

The task force said the seven strikes collectively disrupted terrorist concentrations, leadership structures and logistics networks across the theatre.

Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining coordinated air operations with ground forces to deny terrorists safe havens and support efforts to restore peace and security across the North-East.
