The Kano state command of the Nigeria Police says the fire incident that engulfed its state headquarters in Bampai has been brought under control with no casualty.
The Spokesperson of the command, SP, Haruna Kiyawa in a statement noted that the fire was brought under control by men of the state fire service.
“No life was lost and no injury was recorded. The fire was brought under control by firefighters,” he said
According to him, the fire incident engulfed the Administrative Block located on the first floor of the Kano State Police Command’s Headquarters, Bompai.
“Offices razed by the inferno in the administrative block include:; Provost Office, DC Finance and Admin Office, AC Admin Office, AC Operations Office, Finance Offices and PPRO’s Office among others,” he noted.
He said the Command’s records as well as the commissioner of Police’s office are intact as the fire was put under control before touching those areas.
He said, His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, DR. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has visited the Scene, sympathised with the NPF, the IGP, the AIG Zone 1 and on behalf of Kano State Government promised to assist in the reconstruction of the burnt block.
“The Deputy Governor was received at the scene by the state commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Dauda, psc(+) and officers and men of Kano Police Command,” he said.
