A Commission known as Interfaith Mediation Centre in collaboration with National Broadcasting Commission has organised a one-day Media Conference for 50 Journalists on Effective Broadcasts towards the 2023 general election.
The Kaduna State Zonal Director of the National Broadcasting Commission, JemiluĀ Jega said that the training has been organised in other to guide and remind all media practitioners of the code of conduct governing their profession.
According to him, the essence is to enlighten broadcasters on how to go about their job as related to political broadcast.
He urged the media to ensure peace and harmony amongst people, by using the guidelines of the code of conduct in doing what is expected of them for effective broadcast during the election.
Yahaya continued that “I encourage you to do what is needed because in a situation where there is no peace, definitely there would be a breakdown of law and order in the country, and at the end of the day the country will turn into something else, hence avoid hate speeches, inflammatory remarks, divisive remarks among others.
The Co-executive Director of Inter-faith Mediation Centre IMC Kaduna State, Imam Nurayn Ashafa in his remarks urged the media to put a pulse and reflect on the code of conduct guiding journalism which is bound to uphold.
