Kwara: INEC Commences Batching, Distribution of Sensitive Election Materials

In readiness for the Saturday March 11th Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Kwara State North Central Nigeria, the state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced batching and Distribution of sensitive Election materials.

Speaking with newsmen during the batching of the sensitive materials at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ,Ilorin branch, the State Resident Electoral Commisssioner REC, Mallam Attahiru Madami who was represented by the Administrative Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Julius Yagba said the materials will be distributed across the sixteen local government areas of the state.

According to him, the essence of the early batching of the materials is to ensure timely distribution of the materials.

Madami explained that measures have been put in place to remove challenges recorded during the previous elections.

According to him, all the materials will be moved to local government headquarters for onward distribution to wards and polling units levels.

He said the Commisssion has received all materials required for the conduct of the elections in the state.

Madami assured residents of the state of the determination of the Commisssion to free, fair and credible conduct of the election in the state.

In his remark the Secretary, Social Democratic Party (SDP), Kwara state Chapter, Oladipo Michael commended the Independent National Electoral Commisssion for ensuring transparency in the conduct of the exercise.

He urged the Commisssion to remain committed to the conduct of a free, fair and credible elections in the state.

A cross section of electorate who spoke with VON Correspondent in Ilorin on the Saturday elections urged INEC personnel to ensure early arrival of electoral materials at the various polling booths and ensure that the BVAS function effectively.
