Governorship Election: Police restricts vehicular movement in Borno State

The Borno state Police Command in North-East Nigeria has revealed that there will be restrictions on vehicular movements during the Governorship and State house of assembly elections on Saturday, March 18 in the state.

Borno state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abdu Umar who made the announcement said all forms of vehicular movements and any other form of transportation within the State will be restricted.

The commissioner also promised a hitch-free and credible election.

Mr Umar said only Electoral officials such as INEC staff, Electoral observers and Ambulances for health workers in case of emergencies and other essential services are permitted to move freely.

The Police Commissioner warned that anyone who disobeys the electoral laws would be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly.
