The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Bala Muhammed, the incumbent Governor of Bauchi state as the winner of the governorsip election.
The Returning officer for the governorship election in Bauchi, Prof. Abdulkarim Mohammed and Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Dutse, Jigawa, said Bala Mohammed of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP polled 525,281 to defeat his closest rival, Air Marshal Abubakar Sadiq of the All progressives Congress, (APC) who scored 432,272 votes.
The Returning Officer, declared that “the incumbent Governor, Mohammed the winner, having fulfilled all the requirements of the law.”
The returning officer said that the total number of registered voters stood at 2,749,268 while accredited voters were 1,058,381.
Governor Bala won 13 Local Government Areas while APC Umar scored 7 out of the Local Government Areas in Bauchi state.
