Niger State Governor-elect Receives Certificate Of Return

The Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented a certificate of return to the Governor-elect of Niger State in North Central Nigeria, Alhaji Umar Bago .

The Certificate was presented by the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Niger, Kwara and Kogi states, Professor Mohammed Adams (SAN).

Professor Adams who also presented similar certificates to the Deputy Governor elect of Niger State Comrade Yakubu Garba and other members of the state House of assembly in a colourful celebration, urged the administration of the state to outline on human development as one of it’s priority in carrying the state to a greater height.

Professor Adams who reiterated INEC’s commitment in conducting free and fair election in the country, appreciated the introduction of Technology as the best method adopted by the Commission for achieving it’s aims.

Equally the INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Niger State, Alhaji Yusha’u Garki, who applauded security agencies for maintaining peaceful atmosphere, also commended other stakeholders for ensuring free and fair conduct of to he elections in the state.

The governor elect of Niger State Umar Bago who thanked the supporters of the All Progressive Party (APC) for coming out en-mass to vote for him, reiterated his preparedness to operate an all inclusive administration for the overall betterment of the state.

Priority areas

Bago who further outlined a 5 point agenda in moving his administration further, said security, education and rural development will be giving topmost attention among others by his administration.

He further promised to expand the revenue base of the state through enhancing the economy of the state by upholding accountability towards repositioning of the state.

The Governor elect however appreciated and commended the maturity and sportsmanship of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial Candidate in the State, Alhaji Isa Kantigi for demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship by congratulating him after he was announced as the winner of the Gubernatorial elections.

He also urged members of opposition parties in the State for their united support in developing the state to greater heights.
