Lawmaker tasks politicians on hate-free politics

Member representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Abdulganiyu Saka Cook-Olododo has urged politicians to embrace hate-free politics, noting that ‘politics is a game that is not worth dividing us as a people.’

The lawmaker, who doubles as the Chairman, House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development made the call during the official commissioning of a new police station and quarters to house police officers at Ondoko, Okelele area of Ilorin East LG, facilitated by him.

Olododo who noted that he is not a ‘do-or-die’ politician said “Politics or not, let it be re-emphasized that we are all brothers and sisters and it is for our collective good to remain so.

“Without sounding immodest, I can say with all sense of humility that I have not only broken a record of unrivaled performance, I have also set a record to beat as a member of the Federal House of Representatives”, he added.

Olododo also posited that the project will improve the security and economic growth in the area and therefore urged his constituents to cooperate with the security agents and be law abiding for peaceful coexistence.

Speaking at the official Commissioning of the enormous project, Ibagun Progressive Union Chairman, Alhaji Omomeji, described the project as the first of its Kind in Ibagun ward, stressing that security is paramount in any Community for total development.

While describing the project as an historical leap, he also appreciated Olododo for attending to the community’s need.

For his part, Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama described the project as a gigantic edifice that can not be quantified.

He who said the purpose of the station is to protect the people and not to harass them, assured that officers will be deployed immediately to the station after the commissioning.

While receiving keys from Olododo, he appreciated him for his kind gesture to the constituents and assured that the force will make proper and judicious use of the facilities.

In his remark, the Alangua of Ibagun Ward, Alhaji Saka Iyanda appreciated Cook Olododo for his kind gesture and prayed to Almighty God to continue to strengthen him in all his endeavours.

The event had the presence of Security personnels, Alanguas, and other community stakeholders.
