The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has appointed directors-general for its campaigns across the state’s three Senatorial Districts as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and consolidate the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 General election.
The appointments place political figures from Kwara North, Central and South at the head of the party’s campaign operations in their respective districts, with deputies named to support coordination and mobilisation efforts.
The party announced the appointments in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Abdulwaheed Olawale Babatunde, adding that other directorates and members of the campaign council would be unveiled in due course.
For Kwara North, the APC appointed Benjamin Yisa as Director-General, with Alhaji Ahmed Abbass as deputy director-general.

Yisa, described by the party as a political heavyweight, will lead the campaign structure in the district, while Abbass will support efforts to coordinate activities and mobilise party members and supporters across the area.
In Kwara South, the party appointed Nurudeen Adeyemi, popularly known as ENACT, as Director-General.

Adeyemi is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), representing the North-Central zone, and an APC senatorial aspirant in Kwara South.
His appointment places him at the head of the party’s campaign structure in the district, where he will be supported by Chief Samuel Olu Alabi, who was named deputy director-general.
Alabi, described in the statement as a figure in the hospitality industry, is expected to work with Adeyemi in coordinating campaign activities and strengthening the party’s engagement with communities across the district.
For Kwara Central, the APC named AbdulRazaq Jiddah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, as Director-General, while Dupe Yahaya, a grassroots politician from Asa Local Government Area, was appointed his deputy.

The appointments establish separate campaign leadership structures for the three senatorial districts, potentially allowing the party to tailor its mobilisation efforts to local political dynamics and community interests.
Grassroots mobilisation is a significant component of electioneering in Nigeria, where party structures at the ward, local government and senatorial district levels help candidates engage voters, communicate campaign messages and coordinate supporters.
However, the Kwara APC has yet to announce the full composition of its campaign council, including the heads and members of the various directorates expected to oversee specific aspects of the campaign.
The party said the remaining appointments would be announced in due course.
