As Nigerian workers mark this year’s Workers Day, the Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly in North Central Nigeria, Balarabe Abdullahi, has identified with workers in the State and acknowledged their contributions towards administration and governance in the state.
A statement by Press Secretary to the Speaker, Jibrin Gwamna, quotes the Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi as congratulating Nasarawa workers by describing them as hardworking, understanding and patriotic citizens.
The speaker assured them of full legislative support and partnership towards encouraging and supporting the government to better their welfare at all times.
Mr Abdullahi also commended the state Governor, Abdullahi Sule on workers’ implementation of workshops, prompt payment of salaries, pension, and gratuity for retirees, and the ongoing employment of casual workers in the State among others.
He also congratulated the new State NLC Chairman, Comrade Ismaila Yakubu Okoh and his executive members for their successful election and emergence.
He called for a sustained and effective working relationship between the Labour Union and government for smooth administration in the state.
