As this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia approaches, intending Pilgrims have been admonished to make the fear of Allah their watchword to enable them to maximize their rewards from Almighty Allah in this world and hereafter.
The admonition was given by a monarch in Kwara State who is also this year’s Amirul Hajj of the State to Saudi Arabia, the Etsu Patigi, Umar Bologi at his Palace in Patigi, Patigi local Government Area of the State.
The monarch was playing host to the management of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board who paid a congratulatory visit to him on his appointment as the Amirul Hajj by the State Government.
The visiting team was led by the chairman of the Board, Abdulkadir Sambaki in the company of the Executive Secretary of the Board, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir.
The Amirul Hajj charged the intending pilgrims to guide against any negative act that will tarnish their image while in Nigeria before they depart to the Holy Land and while there during their spiritual journey.
The monarch urged the board members to take proper care of the pilgrims by ensuring that their welfare is adequately taken care of.
Bologi thanked the state governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for finding him worthy by appointing him as this year’s Amirul Hajj for the state and promised to work relentlessly alongside the board members towards ensuring a successful pilgrimage.
He thereafter sought the cooperation of the members and staff of the Board so as to pave the way for an enabling environment for a socio-spiritual exercise of this nature.
He charged the mission unit of the Board to ensure that necessary enlightenment programmes are organised for the intending Pilgrims in order to create adequate awareness for them on Hajj rites as well as required moral values.
In his brief remark, the team leader and the chairman of the Board, Alhaji Sambaki congratulated the Etsu Patigi on his new appointment as Amirul Hajj who will lead Kwara Pilgrims to the Holy Land this year.
No fewer than 3,740 pilgrims are expected to travel with the state pilgrims welfare board to Saudi Arabia for the 2023 pilgrimage.
