The Akwa Ibom State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC has summoned the National Caucus member of the party, Sam Ewang, to appear before it over what it called illegal stakeholders’ meeting.

Ewang, a former military administrator of Ogun and Rivers states, convened a stakeholders’ meeting on Sunday, which took far-reaching resolution including affirming the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, as the leader of the party in the state.

Akpabio and some other party stalwarts were in attendance at that meeting which held at the Vimpy Event Centre, Udoudoma, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

Addressing a media conference on Wednesday, the state Chairman of the APC, Dr Ita Udosen, declared all the resolutions of the Sam Ewang-led stakeholders’ meeting null and void and summoned  him to appear before the SWC of the party.

“On the issue of illegal stakeholders’ meeting convened by a two-time military administrator of Ogun and Rivers states and a founding member of APC in Akwa Ibom State, Sam Ewang, on Sunday;  the BoT member said he has power to convene a stakeholders’ meeting .

“But the State Working Committee want to respectfully disagree with him. After consultations with the legal department, we want to respectfully inform him that he did not have such powers and he doesn’t have powers to do that.

“Base on thus, I therefore declared null and void all the resolutions taken at the stakeholders’ meeting and invite him Sam Ewang to appear and give explanation,” he said.
