Governor’s Wife Promises Continuous Fight Against Gender-Based Violence

The wife of the Nasarawa State governor, Hajiya Silifat Sule has reaffirmed her resolve to fight all forms of violence against women.

The First Lady stated this while playing host to a delegation from Adogi who was in her office on a thank you visit on the role she played in saving the life of infant Ruqayya.

Silifat Sule said the survival of Ruqayya who was raped at the age of three months by a 27 years old man has always given her joy knowing that she has a hand in her survival.

She applauded the role of security agencies in the fight against gender-based violence and other forms of criminality in the State.

Meanwhile, the father of Ruqayya said his joy knew no bound as the checkup conducted on her last month was perfectly well.

He then thanked God and the First Lady for saving the life of Ruqayya, also praying God to guide, protect and give her the courage to do more for humanity.

During the visit, Ruqayya was seen playing like every other child.
