The Commander, 23 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Adamu Abdul, has sought the support of the Lamido Adamawa, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammadu Musdafa, in tackling security challenges in Adamawa State.
Brigadier General Abdul made the appeal when he paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Lamido Adamawa in Yola, the state capital.
The Commander said he chose the palace as his first point of call after assuming office because of the longstanding relationship between the 23 Armoured Brigade and the Adamawa Emirate Council.
He said the visit was also aimed at formally introducing himself to the traditional ruler and seeking the continued support and cooperation of the emirate in maintaining peace and security across the state.
Brigadier General Abdul assured the Lamido Adamawa of the Brigade’s commitment to protecting lives and property, in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy.
He pledged to deploy all resources within his capacity to ensure a safe and secure environment for residents of Adamawa State.
Responding, the Lamido Adamawa appreciated the Commander for the visit and prayed for a successful duty for him and his troops.

Specialised Training
Brigadier General Adamu Abdul also pledged stronger collaboration between the 23 Armoured Brigade and other security agencies in Adamawa State.
He gave the assurance during courtesy visits to the heads of various security and law enforcement agencies in the state.
The Commander said improved collaboration would enhance joint intelligence gathering, information sharing, exchange of ideas and specialised training among security agencies.
According to him, the initiative is aimed at strengthening joint efforts to combat violent crimes, banditry, kidnapping and insurgency, while promoting a safer environment for law-abiding residents.
The heads of the agencies visited appreciated the Commander for his efforts to consolidate existing security gains in the state and pledged to strengthen their cooperation with the Brigade.
The agencies visited included the 153 Base Service Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Correctional Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nigeria Immigration Service and the Independent Corrup Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.
