Comrade Issa Aremu, Director General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, has sent warm Eid Mubarak wishes to all stakeholders.

He said the 2025 celebration, coming during a time of national reforms, highlights the importance of sacrifice as a key part of building the nation.

In his address, the newly reappointed Director General articulated that the core message of the 2025 Eid Mubarak, celebrated amid significant reforms, underscores the notion that sacrifices are both divinely inspired and unavoidable components of nation-building.

Aremu resonated with President Bola Tinubu’s assertion that the most challenging days are diminishing, emphasizing the necessity for all levels of government, organized labour, and employers to collaboratively engage in social dialogue.

This engagement aims to ensure that the benefits derived from reforms encompass reindustrialization, the creation of numerous decent jobs, timely wage payments, and the enhancement of minimum and living wages, as well as pensions.

As negotiations for the revised national minimum wage are slated for 2027, Aremu affirmed that the premier National Institute is poised to provide policy guidance and encourage civic engagement, continuing the legacy established during the landmark 2024 minimum wage discussions led by President Tinubu.

The Director General reiterated the understanding that differing perspectives are a natural aspect of any transitional phase within an institution undergoing reform.

He urged both the staff and management of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies to persist in fulfilling the Institute’s mandate, which is to build capacity for stakeholders in the labour sector, aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that advocates for decent work, social dialogue, productivity enhancement, and industrial harmony.
