The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has urged Corps Members to embrace patriotism by accepting their postings in good faith and settling down in their places of primary assignment to offer selfless service to the nation.
He made this call while addressing the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream Two Corps Members at the NYSC Lagos State Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja in South west Nigeria.
The NYSC helmsman encouraged the Corps Members to respect and learn the cultures and traditions of their host communities, noting that every part of Nigeria is richly blessed with diverse cultural values.
Brigadier General Nafiu warned against misconduct, stressing that any Corps Member who violates the NYSC bye-laws or the Nigerian Constitution would face appropriate sanctions.

“As you have obeyed the clarion call, I urge you as Nigerian youths to believe in this country and lift this nation high. We expect you to be patriotic citizens of this nation because Nigeria belongs to all of us.
“Wherever you are posted to, try to be diligent at your duty post. Don’t travel at night, and don’t travel without authorization,” he added.
