President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the late billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, as a selfless patriot who embodied the values of generosity, integrity, and national service.

The President made the remarks during a condolence visit to the Dantata family in Kano State, following the passing of the elder statesman in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Speaking at the family residence in the Koki area of Kano metropolis, President Tinubu said the late Dantata lived a life of impact and compassion.

This visit is a personal commitment,” Tinubu said. “Alhaji Aminu Dantata was a man of immense character — honest, generous, and deeply committed to the values that define our great country.”

He added, “If friendship and good deeds transcend to the hereafter, I’m confident he would be there, feeding the hungry and bringing comfort to the sick. He was that generous, that kind. He was very close to my family, and I came here before the election to seek his prayers, which he wholeheartedly gave.”

Responding on behalf of the family, the late Dantata’s eldest son, Tajudeen Dantata, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the visit and his continued relationship with the family.

We appreciate your presence and support during this difficult time,” he said. “Your visit today reinforces the strong bond you shared with our father, not just as a leader but as a friend. It shows that the nation mourns with us.”

Legacy

He noted that the family is committed to upholding the philanthropic legacy of their late patriarch.

Kano state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for identifying with the state during it’s trying moment.
