Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has strongly condemned the ongoing war in Gaza, describing it as a “war of starvation, genocide, and liquidation of the Palestinian cause”.
During a press conference with visiting Vietnamese President Lương Cường, el-Sisi appealed to European leaders and the US President to push for an immediate ceasefire, emphasising the need to protect civilians and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The war in Gaza has resulted in significant humanitarian suffering, with the health ministry in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip reporting over 61,000 Palestinian casualties.
The blockage of aid has exacerbated the crisis, with the UN and other international organisations calling for urgent action to address the situation.
El-Sisi’s comments come amid growing international pressure on Israel to end its military campaign in Gaza.
The Egyptian president’s remarks highlight the need for a collective effort to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of Palestinians in Gaza.
