The Kaduna State Government has dismissed allegations by a coalition of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) of plans to undermine Saturday’s by-elections in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency and the state constituencies of Sabon Gari and Zaria.
The coalition, led by ADC National Vice Chairman (North-West) Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, had on Thursday accused Governor Uba Sani’s administration of plotting to rig the polls.
The coalition called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure the neutrality of its personnel and uphold the will of the electorate.
But in a swift reaction, the Kaduna State Government, in a press briefing by Commissioner of Information-designate Ahmed Maiyaki, described the claims as baseless, mischievous, and an attempt to discredit the election process.
