Anambra have also won six bronze medals in various events at the games.
Patrick-Estate Onyedika, Chairman, Anambra State Sports Development Commission, commended the athletes for their spirit and discipline since the beginning of the games.
Onyedum said “the team was still hopeful of more medals as the track and field events of the games enter the final stage.”
He, however, condemned the menace of age cheats at the youth level of national sports competition, and blamed it on desperation for gold and the attendant reward by some states and coaches.
The chairman said; “Anambra would continue to present athletes within the age limit for the competition, noting that that was the starting point for making of world champions.”
