ACCI Seeks Private Sector-Driven Approach to Livestock Development

The Director-General of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Agabaidu Jideani, has called for private sector-driven initiatives to strengthen the livestock value chain in Nigeria, in line with the policy direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Jideani made the call during a stakeholders’ engagement meeting ahead of the Chamber’s forthcoming Annual Livestock Development Summit, Trade Fair, and Exhibition in Abuja.

The Director General disclosed that the dialogue was aimed at enhancing synergy within the livestock ecosystem and creating a platform for sustained engagement with stakeholders.

He noted that the initiative aligns with the vision of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), the national umbrella body of chambers of commerce.

Highlighting the importance of the dairy industry, the DG reiterated the need for policies and initiatives that would make it possible for every Nigerian school child to have access to a daily cup of milk.

Also Speaking at the event, ACCI Vice President, Mr. Bode Thompson described the initiative as a critical step toward unlocking Nigeria’s livestock potential and positioning the country as a hub of value creation.

He underscored the importance of fostering stronger business-to-business (B2B) relationships and private sector collaboration to drive projects and initiatives with regional and global relevance.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Abuja Trade Centre, Dr. Johnson Anene has officially invited participants to the 20th Abuja International Trade Fair scheduled for September 25 to October 6, 2025.

He noted that the trade fair presents a larger platform for businesses to showcase their products and services while exploring market opportunities.
