Humanity First International (HFI), the humanitarian arm of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a series of sports activities, including walking, running and cycling events across different parts of the world. The global event, Walk, Run and Bike for Humanity, is scheduled to take place simultaneously in 65 countries between September 6 and 20, 2025.
The initiative is open to people of all ages and fitness levels, encouraging participants to walk, run or cycle in support of Humanity First’s programmes in health, education, clean water, and disaster relief. By bringing communities together through simple acts of movement, the campaign seeks to demonstrate the power of collective action in tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Speaking on the event, Chairman of Humanity First International, Ahmad Yahya Sayed, described the campaign as a global call to service and solidarity.
“This event is more than just miles covered on foot, wheels or track. It is a movement of compassion, service and unity. As Humanity First marks 30 years of service, every participant becomes part of a living message: that together, with even the smallest steps, we can circle the world with Humanity and Hope.”
In the same vein, Dr Y.A. Habeeb, Country Lead of Humanity First Nigeria, urged Nigerians to embrace the opportunity. “Everyone has the power to make a difference. Whether you walk, run, or bike, every step counts towards creating a healthier, stronger, and more compassionate world.”
In Nigeria, the events will be hosted in several states, including Ikirun in Kwara State, Abeokuta in Ogun State and Ibadan in Oyo State. The grand finale is scheduled to take place in Lagos on September 20, 2025, at the Ojokoro Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Headquarters, located along the Lagos–Abeokuta Motorway.
According to a statement issued by the organisation, the initiative goes beyond marking three decades of service, as it also aims to raise funds to support ongoing humanitarian projects under the Humanity First International banner.
Humanity First International, a global non-governmental organisation, has been involved in providing relief assistance, education, healthcare, water and livelihood programmes in several countries, with a strong commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities and promoting peaceful coexistence.
The forthcoming anniversary events, anchored on sports and community participation, reflect HFI’s ethos of uniting people for a common humanitarian cause while fostering healthy living and social cohesion.
