The Apapa Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has set a new record by generating ₦20.1 billion in revenue within a single day, barely 24 hours into the tenure of its new leadership.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, disclosed that the command raked in ₦20,156,077,098.56 on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
The figure represents the highest single-day revenue collection ever recorded by any Customs Command under the Unified Customs Management System, popularly known as B’Odogwu.
He said, “The milestone surpasses the previous record of ₦18 billion and underscores his pledge to build on the achievements of his predecessor while driving revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.”
Oshoba, who commended his officers and stakeholders for their commitment, urged them not to relent.
He said, “It’s not yet time for celebration because I foresee greater achievements for this flagship command of the NCS under my leadership. Let’s leave applause for the future when we surpass more targets, curb smuggling, and process trade with speed while maintaining integrity. I believe in action, which speaks louder than words.”
Oshoba had met with senior officers where he urged them to sustain and improve the command’s productivity while emphasising that ”outstanding results are the true proof of hard work, dedication, and an uncompromising disposition to duty.”
He also described B’Odogwu as a crucial tool in modernising customs operations in Nigeria, noting its role in boosting efficiency and strengthening the country’s position as Africa’s largest economy.
He promised that Apapa Customs Command would not only meet but also surpass its revenue target while maintaining its reputation as the nation’s flagship customs formation.
