Nigeria Congratulates Botswana On Independence Anniversary

Nigeria has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Republic of Botswana as the southern African nation commemorates another anniversary of its independence.

In a message issued by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Kimiebi Ebienfa, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, lauded Botswana’s legacy of peace, democracy, and socio-economic progress.

The message was addressed to Botswana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Lemogang Kwape.

As Botswana celebrates this momentous anniversary of sovereignty and nationhood, Nigeria joins in honouring the enduring legacy of peace, democracy, and socio-economic progress that continues to define the Botswana people,Ambassador Tuggar stated.

The Minister emphasised the cordial bilateral ties between the two countries, describing them as rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and a common vision for Africas development.

He affirmed Nigeria’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Botswana in key areas, including trade, education, governance, innovation, and continental integration, particularly under the frameworks of the African Union and other multilateral platforms.

Nigeria also commended Botswana’s dedication to good governance, sustainable development, and regional stability, while expressing optimism for deeper collaboration in the years ahead.
