Members of the Kwara State House of Assembly have expressed their support to the state Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

According to them, this is due to his efforts towards providing dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of the state.

The lawmakers through the Speaker of the House, Engineer Yakubu Danladi-Salihu who was represented by his Deputy,  Raphael Olanrewaju Adetiba, representing Oke – Ero Constituency disclosed this on Sunday while addressing newsmen at the NUJ Press Centre in Ilorin the state capital, North Central Nigeria.

They recalled and commended the Governor for the financial support he gave to all the twenty-four members of the house during the 2019 polls which according to them,  led to their victory and emergence as well as the N500,000 each of them also received from the National Headquarters of the APC.

The lawmakers added that the governor equally provided them with other logistics, souvenirs, posters and other campaign materials stressing that at no time did the governor go about telling anyone that he funded their campaign.

The speaker said the news briefing was jointly held on behalf of 21 out of the 24 members of the Assembly who he said are convinced that Kwara can no longer be brought under any godfather or slave driver.

The speaker, therefore, appealed to the National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress APC to ensure that the state party Congress holds as scheduled in the interest of fairness and justice.

According to him, postponing the party congress for any reason will not help to stress that the state governor as the leader of the party should be carried along in whatever decision the party intends to take at the national level.

The lawmakers implored the leadership of the party in the state to count them out of the problem or squabble presently confronting the party and allow them to concentrate on their legislative assignments.
